When Harry Met Sally... is a charming, intelligent romantic comedy with two fine performances by Meg Ryan (is adorable) and Billy Crystal (is hilarious). Regarding two friends who seem to others, but not to each other, to be perfect for one another, the film seems to be a model for countless other films of this genre and I can see why.

Impossible to watch this movie without you jump to mind Anie Hall of Woody Allen. Plagiarism? Tribute early? Certainly the film is well done, the soundtrack whose atmosphere still sending us to Allen, is a fine selection of songs from Jazz, the performances make it very Meg Ryan in her innocent role, but the unfriendly Billy Crystal not paracer able to leave his true personality: pedantic.

Gets more and more perfect with every rewatch. A nuanced, consistently entertaining and hilarious script perfectly actualized by two incredibly charismatic performances and Rob Reiner at the peak of his directorial powers. God, I just love this movie so much.

I had a lot of hope for this one, thinking it might shed light on the thought processes of men and women and how that related to courtship rituals…Nope. While Ephron’s script had some good lines, most of it just felt very bland, like dry toast. Also, I like Reiner as a director but here he is trying too hard to be Woody Allen.
