Agamben’s book The Open made the best case I’ve ever heard made for the argument that the distinction between human & animal is fiction. Venus on The Half-Shell is a close 2nd. I had NO IDEA what I was in for. Even knowing Borowczyk. But then, I also had no idea that mutual intromission was a thing. (Or a “garland of spintrian gastropods”?!) "There is no lewdness which has not its normal type in nature, somewhere."

a very intriguing showcase of erotic animist pastels. They reminded of Francis Bacon's painting's but not as harsh and dark as those.

The drawings seem influenced by Fantastic Planet, which came out two years earlier. I was most intrigued by the moments when Borowczyk wove in the live action shots.

A narrated short that focuses on detailed drawings of pan-gender beings (engaged in all kinds of sexual activities) whose sex organs appear and morph into various manifestations, human and otherwise, according and adapting to their arousal. Reminds me slightly of Isabella Rossellini's fabulous Green Porno series. Very short and very worth it!
