Critics reviews

With a discerning script, Lean’s discreet direction and a roundly impressive cast, The Happy Breed feels neither rushed, congested, nor sentimentally overblown. Rather, its vignettes are concise, powerful and unaffected. It is, quite simply, one of the most engaging and most charming movies ever made.
