Demirkubuz's take on 'Crime & Punishment' (sans the police inspector) is an interesting one that is more interested in social causes than the crime or investigation genre. Successful in capturing the root cause of desperation; poverty; spousal abuse; organized crime. Less successful in some of its casting choices which is the main reason the film misses the mark and audience interest lags long before the conclusion.
In this melodrama, at this point i can call it drama, Demirkubuz finds those tragic memories deep inside and shoves them to my face, again. I enjoy his ways. This story of İsa and Meryem and the fateful connection between them... You don't know what to feel, whom to get angry, what to say. Only a real, striking drama can leave me in this situation, i didn't feel anything, i got lost in thoughts
