Hard to know what to make of this. For the first hour it limps along as awkward wish-fulfilment with Veron sparkling & madly expressive, a born performer & Potter stiff, royal & rigidly self-contained. The dancing & acting equally ill-matched. Then after a scene of a public performance it flickers to life, limitations are acknowledged & we can just enjoy the charge to the finish & have fun with it. A mixed pairing
Sally Potter is a formidable artiste! She triple threats in a charmingly autobiographic shadowbox of Pablo Veron's passionate choreography. I kind of feel exactly like her, without the dancing or partner. I think I've watched the airport conveyer scene 1001 times. Ganchos of the heart.
