A beautiful film. It is a difficult, almost unbearable watch at times, if you really empathize with the characters that is. Nanni Moretti reveals he is a true humanist with little or no sentimentality: at the heart of this emotionally sincere film there are universal themes about bereavement & the grieving process.
The Son's Room's direction is simple, but clever. Nanni Moretti explores how the death of a close one can change our life and how it can affect the relationship with other people, including with our own family, since it can lead to the rupture of family ties. This film depicts the destruction of a happy and united family after the death of its members in the most touching and realistic way.
Brilhante.
The film has a slow-burning pace but once it is finished - you will realize that this small miraculous film will change the way you look at life and death. A poignant and deserving winner of Palm D'or in Cannes.
Totalement bouleversant. === Totally overwhelming. Through the cataclysm that is the loss of a loved one, MORETTI makes us understand the importance of making the share of things in life.
