Playing on the animal charm of Mc CONNAUGHY, FURMAN succeeds a well-crafted psychological thriller that captivates from beginning to end. A bunch of excellent supporting cast (a.o. Bryan CRANSTON) pack the case. === Jouant sur le charme animal de Mc CONNAUGHY, FURMAN réussit un polar psychologique qui captive du début à la fin. Une ribambelle d'excellent seconds rôles (dont Bryan CRANSTON) emballe l'affaire. 3,5/5
I remember watching this in theaters and I remember liking it. But for the life of me I couldn’t remember a single scene. Not one piece of dialogue, not one shot, not one actor aside from our Lincoln guy. Rewatching it was just like the first time. And yet again I liked it and will most likely forget all about it in a few years. It’s the circle of life of forgettable movies.
Excellent crime-legal thriller-drama crossover with cool giallesque twist. One of the best New Wave genre movies I've seen recently. Matthew McConaughey is absolutely perfect as a no shit taking lawyer who discovers something he shouldn't have. I also enjoyed the soundtrack a lot!
This is what an average film should be, it is above average except the first twenty minutes or so when I was thinking about changing the channel and the last three before the credits but other than that it's a good four star film even though I am not going to become a fan of it.
THE LINCOLN LAWYER looks like an episode from a TV series but with longer runtime & bigger production value. But don't let its appearance fools you. Becuase a wise man once said: Don't judge a book by its cover. THE LINCOLN LAWYER is an impressive crime legal-thriller. Though it didn't offer a jaw-dropping plot-twist, it's still entertaining. Thanks to Matthew McConaughey's swag, bad-ass, yet charismatic performance.
