Ratings & Reviews

  1. Jason's rating of the film The Killing of Sister George

SISTER GEORGE might well be the purest culmination of Aldrichian perfection; the messiest, thorniest perfection imaginable. It is of note that he and screenwriter Marcus connived to make the movie significantly more confrontationally provocative than the play from which it is adapted. They also cultivated its warmth. There is no end to my fascination with performance style in Aldrich's women-centered films.

  2. Ethan's rating of the film The Killing of Sister George

This is an engaging and intense drama with phenomenal performances, especially from Susannah York who is an absolute genius at acting. The bar scene is incredible as well. This film is psychotic and heartbreaking all at the same time.

  3. Samuel Andrade's rating of the film The Killing of Sister George

  4. Daniel S.'s rating of the film The Killing of Sister George

Even if Robert Aldrich is not the most subtle director I can think of, he certainly knows how to adapt a stage play. Highly recommended,

  5. Richmond Hill's rating of the film The Killing of Sister George

Something of a curate's egg mixing sitcom conventions with stodgy attempts at titilation. Reid shines through in an unforgiving role.

  6. Anita Nielson's rating of the film The Killing of Sister George
