Kim Ki-young South Korea, 1960

oki's rating of the film The Housemaid

Housemaid was terrifying i think in its invasion of bourgeois space. I kept thinking of Chabrol's La Ceremonie. (in the way they handle: the centrality of music in family life, sexuality, class, revenge, power, and also the kind of absurd tenor alongside the absolute seriousness of the situation) obviously though they are also quite different.
