A story of obsession, money and sexuality in the sex industry, centered around three characters: Johnny Rebel, a porn star; Sean McInnis, the young, naïve kid who moves to LA to pursue a career in the movies; and Johnny’s girlfriend Babylon.

Underrated queer film about disconnection and loneliness centering on the self-destruction of Johnny Rebel, a macho, well-hung heteroflexible drug addict in the gay porn industry. Loses its way half way through once a lame murder-then-escape-to-Mexico plot kicks in but for a while its a very subtle, sad exploration of an empty narcissistic stud and the lonely men and women who fall in love with him.
Owes more to the brutally depressing indie dramas than vibrant queer rom coms or loving tributes to gay porn that I was led to believe. Everyone here seems deeply miserable and it's honestly a bit shocking there's only one death. You here the stories about how making erotica is darker behind the scenes but this is something else. It paints porn as a world fucked up people go to get more fucked up. Not a fun time.
