An outstanding British drama series, so dark and cerebral that it makes "Dexter" look like a TV show for people with ADHD. The twisted dance between Detective Superintendent Stella Gibson and murderous family-man Paul Spector over the course of three seasons is one amazing slow burner!
Gillian Anderson is, of course, radiant and perfect, but I wish (as with anything he's in) that other people could see that Jamie Dornan not only can't act but also can't behave well in front of a camera in a way that conveys he has interesting thoughts.
The first season has it all, until the last few moments, when ‘let’s have a second series, we’ve got the funding’ happens. The subsequent seasons are much less convincing, though you’ll stick with it just to see if justice can be done.
