Critics reviews

The distinctly Clinton-era film now feels rather quaint, for its gender politics (we still may not have even had a female vice-president, but it still feels like a dramatic low aim), its sexual scandal details, and its numerous Chappaquiddick references. What remains most vivid in my mind, however, is the film’s glaring attempt to bring a visually adventurous approach to what on paper might have sounded like a series of talky, staid conversations in dark rooms.
