In the Victorian period, two children are shipwrecked on a tropical island in the South Pacific. With no adults to guide them, the two make a simple life together, unaware that sexual maturity will eventually intervene.

Very romantic. Very naive, everything about it is, the filmaking, the acting, the choice of scenes, the dialogues. The male/female clichés. Still, there is a place in our hearts for it. I mean, for anyone old enough to have watch it as young as the actors were, or even younger, and dream about eden, and falling in love and coming of age. And learning about sexual atraction. And wanting it to be beautiful, meaningful.
**1/2. Paradise island, really ? Dangers: sharks, venenous berries, uneducated savages, no-wifi, bogeyman and no-condoms. This Rousseau-ist coming-of-age story is rather anodyne but is part of the collective unconscious. Reserved to Brooke Shields's fans, movie lovers and travel agents.
4 stars..listen I know this sucks, story aint that great, and I would have killed the director...BUT. This very well might be the first movie to ever be considered "The first erotic movie ever watched" for all of us from 86-88, so for all those tender moments watching this movie. Thank you, now is my time to return the favor.
