A look back at Charlie Chaplin’s early life and career, from his rough childhood and music hall success in England to his early Hollywood days and the development of his enormously popular “Little Tramp” character.

An excellent doc on Chaplins early life and the overall genesis of his character and mastery of film. Stops right as he turns 30, so this is really about his early life and the great Keystone, Essenay, and Monograph shorts he made. I enjoyed this bc his features have been discussed to death. 4 stars. Worth checking out if you catch it on TV one day
