A troupe of struggling actors are working to put the finishing touches on a musical about a murderer/rapist dressed in an owl costume who will in turn get raped and murdered by one of his victims. Alicia has a bum ankle and finds it necessary to sneak out to a hospital which in fact is an asylum.

Critics reviews

Soavi worked for years as an assistant director to Dario Argento, and the latter’s mastery of both barf-bag gore effects and Hitchcockian suspense appears to have rubbed off. These twin talents converge in Stage Fright’s incredible climax, which involves carefully arranged body parts, narrow floorboards, an inattentive murderer, an attentive feline, and one tightly lodged key.
