A light hearted (!!!) film from director Fatih Akin that though a comedy still has its share of pathos to register deeper. Adam Bousoukos is great in the lead well supported by Moritz Bleibtreu and Anna Bederke. Well shot and edited with a memorable music score throughout punctuated by its title inspired music.
I love Fatih Akin, and this film was a lot of fun. But the film's genre limits the storytelling, and even within the framings of the genre there should've room for more emotional effect. I'd prefer a bit stricter editing in the mid-part, and more room for certain characters - the chef (Birol Ünel) had great potential, but was left out of the third act. Anyway - wonderful entertainment!
Guzel, keyifli is..
Not at the level of sublimity of Akin's two previous masterpieces, which would be expected. Instead, it recalls the light-heartedness and genuine fun of "In July," this time combining multiculturalism and food. Tremendously enjoyable.
