A good little peplum every three/four months or so has never harmed anyone. Here we have Israelite folksinger Yul Brynner flirting with Sheban Ballet dancer Gina Lollobrigida while Pharaoh and Yul's prone to warfare and jealous brother George Sanders are plotting against them. Production design is never cheap and battles are believable in the last film directed by the great King Vidor. Strongly recommended.
A glorious debacle. From the miscasting of everyone except for George Sanders, the subpar editing, the standard story drawn out far too long, & especially Brynner's adequate and kingly performance that shows none of the inner conflict that Tyrone Power must've given before he died on set. You could swear this was a DeMille misfire but coming from Vidor as his final film this is a disappointment.
