And yet an artifact it is, so thoroughly steeped in the conventions of light operetta that it may as well be called THE STUDENT PRINCESS IN OLD HEIDELBURG… Viewed at this early stage, the Multiplane system is an astonishing technical feat in search of an expressive end.
