Critics reviews

Those into surfing will need no recommendation to see Riding Giants. To an outsider like myself, it seems an authentic and comprehensive account of its subject, and it gives a lot of time to such luminaries as Greg Noll and Jeff Clark. But it will surely be hard for any viewer to overlook the fact that the portrait of surfing presented here is overwhelmingly male.

What are people saying?

  • John H. Nomedal's rating of the film Riding Giants

This documentary is like a good newspaper article that takes us through tales from the world of surfing, the origin of the sport and the lifestyle as well as the focus on contemporary issues regarding the extreme sport aspect of it. The film flows like its surfboards and feels like a ride on one. In the end the rides over and were left not knowing much about the global and future prospects of the surfers of tomorrow.
