I had the pleasure of seeing Retablo on the big screen at my local art-house theatre. The film rose far above any of my expectations. This is truly a rare, authentic gem of a film. The love, despair and sincerity that is present here, is nothing short of visually arresting. The cinematography and the naturalistic acting projects beyond perfection. This is one of the most important films ever made.
