  • dionysus67's rating of the film Paracelsus

Its major flaw is not the blemish of being made under the Nazi regime, Pabst's film misses a great opportunity to insert expressionist touches and move away from the costume drama genre. Paracelsus' ideas are seldom and schematically explored as the film focuses on the barriers placed by a reactionary society. Only the juggler's dancing (in the tavern), W.Krauss, and an image of the Grim Reaper survive the fiasco.
