When Chris is in debt to a drug lord, he decides to hire a hit man to kill his mother, whose life insurance policy is supposed to go to his sister Dottie. Chris has heard of crazy Dallas cop Joe Cooper, who moonlights as a contract killer. But Joe demands to take Dottie as carnal collateral.

When he has us where he wants us – giggling and nervous – Friedkin the horror-meister returns, staging a couple of sequences so brutally and baroquely over the top that they’ll probably be discussed for a long time.
Friedkin is back in full form. McConaughey is a real treat as a stone cold psycho. As perverse as funny, if you happen to enjoy a ride full of the most vile things imaginable done with brutal honesty but with a warped (and let's say "refreshing") sense of humor.
Dark, lurid, violent, and seething with grimy sexuality, this kind of film picks up where Letts' and Friedkin's collaboration on "Bug" left off several years ago. A masterfully directed and stylishly composed cornucopia of colour, sleaze, and comedy genius of the darkest shade. Minimal characters, high tension, and a sadistic story are what to expect with this trashy masterpiece.
The closest thing to come to a Russ Meyer movie we will see nowadays... though, its actually better than most of Russ's filmography (with a few exceptions). Dark doesn't even begin to describe this movie... its, its own religion! The performances are completely inspired and writing is clever! Really, there isn't anything I don't like about this. I look forward to seeing this movie again... and again.
Well then... how to describe such a film? Perhaps the word "masterpiece" will do for now. But seriously there isn't one thing about this film that I didn't find perfect. It's hysterically funny, dark, fucked up and completely cinematically brilliant. Matthew McConaughey gives the performance of a lifetime and Juno Temple is sexy as shit (and gives a great performance too). Probably the best comedy I've seen in years.
Gotta be the highest most awesome of numbers.5! ("If man is Five.." quoting Black Francis epic Pixies' song) 5 stars? Because it was just T-H-A-T good a film. Full of cinema. Full of clever and witty lines. Full of cinematography bravoura. Full of superb actors delivering them as if they were the greatest thing god had ever made (film-wise i mean: god as in Film History). That script? Perfect. That ending? Come on: <3
