Based on critical and fan reaction, I was expecting a dumpster fire, but - and I realize this is damning with faint praise - "Iron Fist" is honestly not that bad. The action, while far from noteworthy, proves adequate compared to most direct-to-DVD martial arts flicks, and David Wenham is terrific as a wild card villain. The surprise highlight is the ambient, almost Vangelis-like electronic score by Trevor Morris.
More like 2.5, cause it's not all that terrible. It's just... bland. Just another factory stamp Marvel TV show on Netflix. Which is a pity, cause this had the potential to provide some ridiculous fun. Yet the creators decided to do one more overtly serious Marvel TV series on Netflix.
All Marvel's Netflix series has the problem of going too far into the character's psyche and self-doubt and this is especially true for Iron Fist where the hero seem to question every single punch and move he does - something that probably also made it a hard watch for fans who wanted a full-blown, fast-paced fantasy martial arts adventure, which this ain't. It has some great female characters though.
I wasn’t a big fan of the first season like most people, but i still probably liked it than most people, or at least critics and the people i’ve heard about, but i still liked it from what i remember but after finishing Season 2 just now, i know i really liked season 2. It was honestly a pretty good season with some cool stuff and it sucks that Iron Fist and the rest got cancelled
Gets better towards the end of season 1, but undoubtedly the worst of the Marvel Netflix series. David Wenham was the best thing about it, but he's out. I'm glad to see it cancelled, the whole show was a series of boring missteps.
