  1. Jason's rating of the film How to Live in the German Federal Republic

I believe HOW TO LIVE IN THE GERMAN FEDERAL REPUBLIC the finest film made around the aftermath of the felled Iron Curtain, habitually listing it as one of the ten greatest films of the WHOLE 1990s. Dark and cursedly ironic, delivered in a tone it hijacks--one of idiotically paternalistic "instruction"--it would be baroque if it didn't, you know, share a certain 'glaciality' in common w/ Austrian neighbor Herr Haneke.

  2. Hani's rating of the film How to Live in the German Federal Republic

The only difference between what the Westerns call the communist lifestyle and their own lives is that the communist lifestyle is imposed on people by force and those who try to break the rules will be imprisoned, and the Western dictating lifestyle is willingly adapted by citizens and those who break it will be left out. This film is one of the greatest films I have ever seen in my life.
