  • ejonline's rating of the film Hot Pepper

Chenier certainly helped spread the word about zydeco to wider audiences and thus is an important figure in music history. The film captures great performances and shares some important information (e.g., I didn't know Lightnin' Hopkins was his cousin), and great anecdote about women throwing money and underwear at him and his wife rooting around the stage picking up both. Must have been a rocking show.
