This thriller is so weird, badly scripted und remote from any real concert performance that I had to laugh the whole time. Although the film is meant to be very serious it is particularly funny to watch. And Victor Reyes' score got my attention and respect, because the composer did a great job.
Pretty tense and fun, even if totally totally ridiculous. I was expeccting it to be a drag with a lot of boring spaces, but they actually managed to pull it off. Loved the direction and specially the herculean editing job. That's entertainment.
Spectacularly inane, one of the worst movies of the year. Questions abound. How did it get funded? How and why was it actually released in theaters? Above all, what is the Big Lebowski doing on stage, directing the orchestra? [Note for commenters: please switch on your sense of humor to get the ref about the Dude. Thanks.]
The story was promising, but "Grand Piano" needed a better script and stronger supporting characters. Even with the classy clothes and fancy scenario it often leaned towards the campy side. The final act was specially disappointing and the singing number very uncalled-for. Elijah Wood did the best he could.
Ennjoyable but largely silly movie with an intriguing premise. The acting is pretty good and the direction keep things moving nicely. The end is beyond hokey and strectches what little credibility there is to the movie. Still a good sub-par DePalma homage.
