Straightforward vampire tale benefits from the late 60s L.A. atmosphere and charismatic performance of Robert Quarry. In some ways the low budget charm of this struck me as a slightly higher-end H.G. Lewis movie (e.g. A Taste of Blood), in that the style, locations and atmosphere seem to lack any artifice. The acting (especially by Roger Perry) is very solid; great to see Michael Murphy in an early performance.
