The calmness , something about this thing brings peace into my mind. Like if i myself am looking out through these windows. They seem very similar to a place i have been inside.

"I love the clouds ... the clouds that pass ... up there ... up there ... the wonderful clouds!" (Baudelaire)

I was going to call the film "The Reveries of a Cloud-Monger." haha!

I find myself inside looking out a lot these days. I look out of windows for a long spell and I absorb what I see and hear and smell and feel. In the hot winds and dry hills of the San Fernando Valley I'm more likely to get baked than get any kind of peace. Heat can do things to a man, right? Now that my mind's all made to mush, I can see through your bedroom window and feel the rain and hear the wind and see the drapes sway back and forth. Being all the way out here you brought me some peace with those big old clouds.

What I like most is the Hi-8mm textures, the light flickers: a moment in time bathed in silver nitrate dreaming. I miss rain.

The overall aesthetic is a lo-fi meditation on time and place, it tries to capture the look, feel and spirit of polaroid snapshots.

The film draws inspiration from Pascal (Pensées), Xavier de Maistre (Journey Around My Room), John Cage (Silence) and Tarkovsky's polaroids (Instant Light).

Video Info: Shot on a Sharp Viewcam (Hi-8mm - analog) with direct sound only (the music by Debussy was recorded live while shooting), all effects were achieved 'in-camera' and nature did the rest.
