Somehow i got it. Amazing what music can do to an image. Reading your post, i agree about what your plan is and what you find accidentally. Beautiful short!

What's great about experimental films is when the elements come together in harmony like milk and honey and you see that there's things in cinema that we never knew we could do until the moment you see it happen. I don't know if that happened to you but I know that there was a moment or two in your flick that really stood out that I'd be proud of through and through. Imagine making a film next time with a drama playing out in the center of three frames, just like you did here except that's the whole thing. You have the whole thing playing out with the other two frames playing out the season and time outdoors or wherever. You already did it here I suppose but I think it's a fun little trick to see more of.

Thanks for your comments.
I think i was trying to discover and work with the different textures of the image: rhythm, movement, melody, montage.
I'm really an editing novice, so I had an idea of what it should look like in my head, and then I hit the editing machine and stumbled upon some techniques.
As for the theme, well I hope I was able to capture a sense of loss and longing for another, but I'm not so sure that came through.

I agree with Dkaz. Although seemingly random, the cells/shots/atmospheres bond together to create a prism of meanings, leaving the impression of holding a crystal: turn it one way and it's a short film about dislocation, loss of the sense of self. Turn it another and the lens creates an interlock/montage of solid emotions. Evocations #4: Tarantula cannot be easily dissolved nor explained, and I like that a lot in film.

Unrelated, not likely! Can you tell us more about this, the concept, the construction? I really like the last segment, and particularly the last shot. Use of space and freedom of movement of the actors is very nice.
