About Me

The inventor of the three-man scarf, Josh Tierney is also an absurdist writer who can quite possibly make things out of his dandruff, and some legends say he may — or may not — believe in the supernatural. He is also the creator of JoshTierney.com and Spera-Comic.com.

Good movies are entertaining.
Great movies are engrossing.
The greatest films are alienating.

We go to the cinema to escape the lack of miracles in our lives.
We go to the cinema to see miracles occur in the lives of others.
We become changed by the cinema when, instead of providing that escape, we are shown how beautiful the world is regardless, and are reminded of our place in this beautiful world as conscious entities.

To be confronted is to think,
and I want to think,
so let greatness confront me
lest my mind become someone else’s.

You basically summed up Chris Marker's obsession with memory with that eloquent post about Keyboard Cat and Usher. Thank you.

After some thorough investigating, I found it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ig0BrlJYK2I But seriously, you haven't lived until you've seen the Chris Marker film.

Thank you. I can bask in the glory of a cat relaxing on a keyboard with glittery stars! In celebration, I was going to link you to this Chris Marker film called "Chat écoutant la musique" which is just three minutes of a cat sleeping on a keyboard, but I can't find it any where online :(

I respect your taste in movies and you're awesome (but small) avatar. And according to a student of Gorin, the upcoming Criterion set is getting the deluxe treatment not an Eclipse set. It's going to be full of special features and the such! Joy!
