About Me

I like films with lots of talking and others with beautiful women. That’s why Robert Altman and François Truffaut are among my all time favorite directors. Best films, naturally, are those with beautiful, talkative women. I also like silent movies and Terrence Malick, which in no way is a contradiction to what I said above.

For everything film I try to maintain a Blog named Kein Blut, Rot! (in german, sorry), and, being fond of lots of talking, I also joined Twitter.

Shot in beautiful wide-screen, but narrowing compositions between vertical lines, windows, doors, walls, this is an at the same time haunting and sometimes strangely funny piece about what we would…  read review

Darbareye Elly

About Elly

Great film. In the beginning it’s a joyful multi person piece, with everybody talking, with overlapping dialogue in an almost Altman-esque way. People are teasing one another and burst out into song…  read review

Still Life

Very beautiful, slow camerawork, almost as if the film tries to keep in mind all the random still lifes it shows – things on cupboards, a chest expander hanging from a wall, a bag of tea in a locker…  read review

The Circle

Great movie. It follows different women during their daily struggle, never fully explores one story but rather looses the protagonist after some time to follow a different woman. Begins in a hospital…  read review
