The ultimate cinephile film of the 2007 festival circuit, José Luis Guerin's ode to voyeurism, In the City of Sylvia, opened in the UK last month with this perfectly evocative poster designed by one of my favorite studios, All City Media. (Its mixture of photography and pencil-sketches amusingly similar to the poster for Sam Mendes' latest, Away We Go.)
What I love about All City's website is that they also post the unused comp designs they come up with, many of which are just as good as the final poster, as is the case with these three unused Sylvia designs.



But I still have a soft spot for the French poster, with its hint of a ghost story:

That blue-like-glass effect in the middle shows the film in realhomepants.
