The Little Boy Who Loved A Film

By: Glemaud

On a cool summer day in the wonderful city of New York City, a mother took her son to a fine film that would change his life forever.

That is what I’d like you to believe, but these are falsities that I’m spewing at you. I am somewhat new to the film art, though I spent many of my young days watching filth such as the ever graceful HOME ALONE 3 (what can I say, I was young and stupid).

In the fall of 2008, due to a scheduling mishap I took a film course, and it’s there I knew where my future was to head. I liked movies, they were great time wasters when I was cutting class or hanging out with the fellas and gals. I loved film after this course, due to the genius that is Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans. I lusted for film when I came here. I had my cinematic cherry popped circa a year ago; It’s here I discovered my lust for abstract and experimental film. I’m always learning, always bettering my cinematic taste, so when I’m in a bar talking jive to a lady friend, I can impress her with my vast film knowledge — that’s right, I do all this to “score.”

These are the films that shape who I am. I will defend them to the grave, to Burger King, and even in the shower. Mess not with me, for I am a boy with a fiery passion for arguing and will drunk text you slanderous insults till you scream Uncle.

I know you hate Kim Ki-Duk. amd Forrest Gump is a guilty pleasure of mine. I saw it while inebriated and fell in love. I've fought tooth and nail with Blue K about it, and won't stand down. I didn't see Sunrise at BAM, though I wish I was into film then. Oh well, maybe I'll get lucky and make you jealous one day. One can hope. I'll be sure to check those recommendations. I'll be at your level one day!
