The film is too conventional in its structure and images for character like Chanel, who was very forward-looking at her time. Considerably boring and annoying in that sense.

so it loved it, the moment is great and she was a warrior and "amazona" of her time in her own glamorous way (*)

I see lots of similarity between this movie with Cottilard's La Vie en Rose, but somehow I still prefer Cottilard's.. Tautou did a good job as usual but I need more than good, I need a great one. The story will be so much better if they focus on the career not the love story which I think is not that special.

I get that Chanel is known for her minimalism during her day and age, but the dresses she designed in the movie were just not appealing. Reminded me more of minimalist Jil Sander rather than decadent Chanel. It's quite ironic that Chanel is now perceived as a more over-the-top brand whereas Coco thought differently.
