David Lynch

David Lynch is the Renaissance man of modern American filmmaking, an acclaimed and widely recognized writer/director as well as television producer, photographer, cartoonist, composer, and graphic artist. Walking the tightrope between the mainstream and the avant-garde with remarkable balance and skill, Lynch brings to the screen a singularly dark and disturbing view of reality, a nightmare world punctuated by defining moments of extreme violence, bizarre comedy, and strange beauty. There were some pretty cool special effects. I really really liked the "water of life" scene with 'Paul'. I liked noticing all the familiar faces in the cast, but mostly found myself just looking forward to the next time I watch through Twin Peaks. It could have been a great movie.

I really want to like this soo badly but so much of it is a failed product. I know it got taken away from Lynch but what it could have been doesn't change what it is. That all being said I've watched it a dozen times because of Lynch's design and style. I think I keep hoping that it will be better.
