Don't get me wrong- the message this Film sends is an important one, and pretty heart wrenching, with the ending and all ( I won't spoil it), but, I think it was pushed over the top to win over the viewers who either have soft hearts, or those that just want some cold blooded brutality.

When this film was released, the issue of race was still a taboo subject. It still is. I enjoyed this film. As a black man myself, I have experienced racism first hand. I want to know why do people hate. Avery Brooks' character was a little too preachy.
